Happie Nuts November 2011 Outfit Picks and My idols/Heroes.

All I seem to be posting recently is outfit Picks! I guess at least now, except for Ranzuki, all the Gal magazines I read have been done for November haha.

I used to dislike magazines like Happie Nuts and Jelly when I first started getting into Gyaru. I was a strictly Agejo follower when I first started and I thought that Happie Nuts and Jelly were a bit too tame but more and more I'm loving the outfits that appear in them and this month's Happie Nuts is no exception.
Again I'm seeing another one of those jumpers with the "From the Sky brings Happiness" slogans on it. I need one, can anyone tell me what brand it is?

Now, I wanted to post about my idols. Not my fashion inspiration but the people who inspire my life and the way I live. I've narrowed it down to my top 3, the 3 people who's lives and words have made me think about my own life and the way I live it. These are in no specific order.

Dolly Parton.

I'm not a fan of country music but Dolly Parton is one of the most amazing women to have ever lived. Her attitudes towards things are fantastic. She lived a typical Rags-to-riches story going from a "dirt poor" family to being one of the most recognised and richest women in the world.
"There was a woman in our hometown, and everybody said she was trash, you know, the town tramp. But I thought she was beautiful 'cause she had this yellow hair, and she had bright red lipstick, and she wore makeup and tight clothes and bright colours and red finger nails and high-heeled shoes. And I thought 'Thats how I want to look!' I thought she was beautiful..."

Coco Chanel

This woman is the biggest inspiration in terms of where I want to go with my career. Her life is a fascinating story. When she was 12 her mother died from Tuberculosis and her father had already left the family and so she was thrown into an orphanage. She started to sing in bars but when her singing career failed to take off she worked in a tailor shop where she became a mistress to a very rich man and was a "kept woman". Eventually she worked to become a licensed Modiste. She opened her own boutique and well, the rest is history.
“I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”

Rina Sakurai.

I don't know much about her past so I can't give you a story for her but I'm sure you all know her as well as I do. I used to love her as a model but what really changed my view on her and catapulted her into "idol" status for me was reading a translation of her blog post from just before her 27th birthday posted here on the Fuck Yeah Sakurina tumblr. Reading that blog entry just described everything I feel, down to the fact she says she wears such heavy eye-makeup to hide her insecurities; I've done that since I knew what make-up was. To know such a flawlessly beautiful woman has normal insecurities just like the rest of us and has overcome them to be a famous model, actress and even singer in her own right inspires me.
"It’s difficult and I was giving up, but you only have one life, if I’m going to live for however many years I should do what I want at the time or I’ll miss out.
I hear that you shouldn’t use the phrase “Someone like me…” anyway.
In the past I hated my face so much that I broke a mirror twice.
How come that girl’s eyes are so big but mine are like this?
How come that girl’s eyelashes are so long but mine are…
How come that girl’s nose is tall but mine is…
How come that girl’s teeth are so nice but mine are…
How come that girl…I hated everything about myself, I got angry, I cried, every day I was irritated.
Right now the reason why my makeup is dark is to deceive everything."

I'd like to ask you all what your idols are, if you have any? I wonder how many of you have the same idols as me or how different our inspirations are.

Gig in the Park

I've taken a while to post this. I've been feeling a little weary about it as I look totally awful in all the pictures. The humidity was quite disgusting and my hair first went flat and then puffed out so I looked like I'd just rolled out of a hedge, but I like this blog to be a sort of insight into my life and since I had a lot of fun I thought I might as well post it, so please excuse my ridiculous look.

My outfit for the night. Please excuse the flat-hair. I love the action-shot of the hairdressers in the background!

The main stage. We didn't spend much time here but the Swedish girl band that played last were really great.

The dance stage where we obviously spent most of our time. They played some decent electro but some of it was far too cheesy for my liking.

A cute little "gypsy band" stage by the porta-loos (they obviously drew the short straw there). The band was actually really good and the lead singer was HOT if I do say so myself. If I were single...

Me and my boyfriend with our adoring fans! Please ignore the fatty-arm and my ridiculous face!

My boyfriend's friend got obsessed with my coat and spent the rest of the night in it! Strange man. Again, please ignore the red-eye!

That's all I have from Gig that aren't really awfully bad! I do have a couple of pics of my outfit and makeup from yesterday for you to redeem myself.

My outfit. I took it in my new floor-length mirror and it's done some weird warping thing! I actually am dumbfounded about how it's done that.

Hair and makeup. Please ignore the boob-age in the first pic!

I still can't wear my circle-lenses but I'm going to the opticians today to get my eyes checked and sort out whats happened to them. Hopefully it will clear things up and I'll be alright to wear them again in a few weeks.

Nerves are ridiculous.

I'm so nervous right now! I have to go into the Salon to look over my loan forms and ask about starting part-time until my funding is secured. I'm so nervous about it because it's a huge thing. I've been out of work due to my illness for a year and a half now and the idea of going back is truly terrifying. Am I ready to go back? What if I'm not and I completely ruin the chance to chase my dreams? It's all swimming around my head. However I've been listening to Fliptrix all morning while curling my hair and that always calms me.

Anyway my friend's mum hasn't uploaded the pictures of us from Sunday but I managed to take a picture of my hair and makeup before we left.

Really bad Suji Mori going on there but everyone was giving me compliments on my hair all night. It wasn't as perfect as it should have been considering I spent about 3 hours on it!

I really am uninspired for outfits today but hopefully what I've come up with is ok

I have got a little diamond necklace on as well but it seems to be up around my neck here haha. I'm teeming this up with heeled "biker boots".

HERP DERP! My make-up and hair efforts for today.

I need to get a decent camera considering the one on my old phone broke along with it and I'm currently running whatever standard thing is on my Xperia X8. Anyone have any recommendations for something around 80 pounds?

Clothes haul!

I'm finally back from my boyfriend's after far too long with a limited supply of clothes and underwear Photobucket! I do miss being with him but I need to get my clothes and stuff, plus having my own PC again is nice. Laptops get a bit annoying after a while Photobucket.
Upon my arrival home again I had a huge haul of clothes and some other bits and bobs Photobucket! Gosh, I love ebay so much haha. My fed-ex stuff from China had also arrived. I'm so choosing fed-ex next time I order with them.

I'll show you the stuff from China first.

Stuck

I've been stuck at my boyfriend's house which is nice because we get to spend more time with each other but I'm quickly running out of clean clothes and outfit ideas.

So, what have I done to pass the time while my boyfriend's been out working? I gave myself a bit of a haircut.

This was yesterday's hair and make and my kinda "before" shot I guess. At least of my fringe anyways.
