Just a quick update about the job.

I'm back from the Salon and I have to say it went amazingly!

The owner said that she doesn't think I'll need to do the full 2 year course, she thinks I'll be fully qualified within 18months. She also says she wants me on the shop floor and building a client base by the end of my first year. She then broke it to me that she's buying another property that a friend of hers owns when it comes to the end of its lease in about 2 and a half years. She wants me to run the current premises with the help of the other stylist but she will be moving between the two so most of it would be single-handed, as long as all my training goes to plan. Can you believe that? I'm so happy you can't even understand what I'm feeling. Eeeeee!

Here, have some Uk Hip hop/Dubstep to make this entry lest texty texty.

(something rediculously sexy about Dirty Dyke...)

Nerves are ridiculous.

I'm so nervous right now! I have to go into the Salon to look over my loan forms and ask about starting part-time until my funding is secured. I'm so nervous about it because it's a huge thing. I've been out of work due to my illness for a year and a half now and the idea of going back is truly terrifying. Am I ready to go back? What if I'm not and I completely ruin the chance to chase my dreams? It's all swimming around my head. However I've been listening to Fliptrix all morning while curling my hair and that always calms me.

Anyway my friend's mum hasn't uploaded the pictures of us from Sunday but I managed to take a picture of my hair and makeup before we left.

Really bad Suji Mori going on there but everyone was giving me compliments on my hair all night. It wasn't as perfect as it should have been considering I spent about 3 hours on it!

I really am uninspired for outfits today but hopefully what I've come up with is ok

I have got a little diamond necklace on as well but it seems to be up around my neck here haha. I'm teeming this up with heeled "biker boots".

HERP DERP! My make-up and hair efforts for today.

I need to get a decent camera considering the one on my old phone broke along with it and I'm currently running whatever standard thing is on my Xperia X8. Anyone have any recommendations for something around 80 pounds?

Birthday meal, new layouts and comment boxes.

I have a new layout! Do you like it? I thought my old one was a little too dark and dingy and wanted something with a bit more light to it. Unfortunately though the comments option has disappeared. I'm not sure what part of the code has edited this so until I sort it out, I have a little chat box for you to write comments in. Please don't let it stay bare!

It's one of my best friend's birthday today, she's now officially an adult as she's turning 21. I don't know what the hell to wear for her birthday meal today. Her boyfriend and her family are generally strictly jeans-and-tee kinds of people and I know she's just wearing a casual summer dress. I really don't know what I'm going to wear so I've been brain storming.

I love Ash's outfit here.

I was thinking of maybe reversing this outfit and having black shorts and a white top with gold accessories.

Animal print/denim combo.

Again, they'd have to be black shorts.

I think I've brainstormed this enough now. I'll make sure I get a pic of what I end up wearing and show you what I came up with.

Bonus pic:

I've been rocking the straight hair for too long recently. I need to go back to the curls tonight!

Am I back?

Maybe I am! I don't know, I'm going to try and blog as much as possible but things in my personal life are still extremely hectic but I miss all you Gals and I'd like to come back to the community again, you know?

Now, the next post is generally going to be long and probably quite mundane but here goes!
Firstly I want to show you a few pics from Glade Festival. I will apologise now for my lack of co-ordination. I was very barely sober for the entire time but I had a great time and, lets face it, I can't be perfect all the time!

My photo-taking utensils ran out of battery on the first night, as generally things like that tend to happen to me haha. These are just the highlight pics. Dreadzone and DubFX were my favourite sets there. Both of them just blew me away. If you ever get the chance to see either of them I recommend. DubFX is amazing because he beat-boxes, I just can't believe someone can actually form those sounds in their face.

I know it's been a while since I last posted style pics but I really haven't been thinking about taking photos of my outfits and such, but here are a few clothes and make pics from the past few weeks.

I tried to do a more Jelly-like style. I don't really know if I pull it off very well.

Messy hair, but my lenses look great. I miss them, I need to buy new ones!

Finally the only outfit picture I actually took in my absence!

I really can't remember what clothes I have shown you and what clothes I haven't so I'll just show you a few cosmetic gets.

Thank you to my new followers that have joined me while I've been away and of course thank you for all the oldbies who have stuck by the blog even though I've been a really awful blogger. Fingers crossed, over the next few weeks you'll see more exciting items here.

I'm a bit MIA.

I have to apologise for my recent hiatus and the fact that it will be continuing indefinitely until things in my personal life have all fallen back into line.

Those of you who I actually speak with may know about my heath issues will know I've been dealing with a team of doctors and other health professionals in order to make head and tail of things. I'm currently having to have a lot of blood tests and those sorts of things and I've been refered to a new clinic. It's all a bit scary to be honest with you so I'm sure you can understand why I've not been in the right mind to think of and write out blog entries.

Due to that and various other things happening in my personal life right now (it all happens at once, doesn't it?!) I will not have the time or mental capabilities to blog. I will be back, I'm not a quitter and I enjoy writing this blog and I enjoy reading people's comments and reading about other Gal's lives so please don't unfollow me or unbookmark me (if I am indeed special enough to gain a bookmark!) and I will be back.

Please feel free to add me to MSN or Skype as I'd love to keep in contact with my readers even if I dont have time to blog.
Skype: cupcaked.princess_k
MSN: kirakiracupcake@live.co.uk

I will be back soon. Thanks for reading and understanding.

Gyaru as a lifestyle - Music.

I'm going to be doing a series of posts about the so-called "Gyaru lifestyle". There's huge debate in the community about whether Gal is a lifestyle choice or just simply a fashion statement. I am undecided mostly but I do believe that you do have to live a certain lifestyle for Gal to fit everyday, for example most Japanese gals work as hostesses or staff-chans and sacrifice other jobs because they wouldn't be able to dress the way they enjoy.

Today I want to cover what exactly a Gyaru would listen to. Mostly when I think of Gals and music I get drawn to Eurobeat mainly because of the Gyaru craze of Para-para.

Aside from Eurobeat the other two music genres that I see mentioned the most are Jpop/rock and R&B/Hip-hop. Obviously the latter form a huge base of influence for the Bgyaru off-shoot and the former seems to be prominent among the rokku, banba and tsuyome gals.

Personally I listen to mostly Jungle, Drum and Bass, Reggae & Dub, Dancehall, Techno, Hardtek, dubstep, breakbeat and UK Hip hop.

What are your music tastes? Do you fit the bill with the most commonly listened to "gal music"?

Shopping Mall Japan Review.

I got another order from Shopping Mall Japan through and I thought I'd write a more detailed review about their services this time, so here goes. I hope some of you find this useful.

Everything arrived in a box, well padded by a ton of Japanese newspapers. I really appreciate how padded-out the packages are to ensure that no, or as little as possible, damage is caused to the items inside.

The items themselves are always packaged in little bags with the auction number and such on a lable on the outside. The items are usually folded pretty well too.

The items were both undamaged and I was really pleased with the way they packaged and sent their items.

I personally use SMJ as you can put down a deposit through paypal and you can bid up to 5x that ammount on as many items as you like. You also dont have to pay the invoices for 2 weeks after you recieve them which is both a blessing and a curse for me!

Their fees are pretty good too but they charge different rates depending on which auction site your using or if you're placing a shop order. If you want to know their fees information just go to their website: http://shoppingmalljapan.com/generalfees.html

They only allow EMS shipping which is at normal rates. As far as I know they dont send items standard post. They usually ship pretty soon after you place your shipping request I've had no complaints with their dispatch times so far.
They support Yahoo Japan auctions, Amazon Japan, Rakuten auctions etc but do not support Mbok so you will have to use another shopping service for that.

Lastly their Customer Service is fantastic. Everytime I've had a query with them they have replied within 24 hours and are always friendly and polite.

Overall I really have nothing bad to say about this shopping service other then the fact they do not support Mbok. I'm hoping this will change soon but otherwise, if you're looking for a great service for Yahoo Japan and Rakuten I really recommend!
